I've have made a lot of progress at Proactive Pelvic Health Centre with Leeanna. She is the most supportive, kind and helpful physiotherapist I have ever had. She always takes the time to explain what she is doing while in session, is always positive and helps keep me motivated in my healing journey. Proactive Pelvic Health Centre is incredible. All the staff are extremely friendly and understanding. The environment is very comfortable, which is important when it comes to things like this. Beth my pelvic physio was extremely knowledgeable and caring. Beth made me feel like I wasn't crazy for needing to be there and ensured me that we could work together to improve my condition. I was extremely hesitant to pursue pelvic therapy initially but having worked with my pelvic physiotherapist over the past two months, I have regained a significant amount of my confidence after the birth of my child. My pelvic physiotherapist was just what I needed during my pregnancy and postpartum. She helped me to walk (prenatally) and heal properly (postnatally). She was friendly, knowledgeable and made exercises realistic for a pregnant/postnatal mom. I'll be back (gladly) if I ever need the support.

This experience changed by life. I could never have expected that something I never knew existed would become something I couldn't imagine living without. The staff at Proactive were so friendly and professional. I never felt rushed or pressured or anything short of welcome and supported. Over the past few months I have been taught how to reclaim my sexuality and womanhood. This place is fantastic. The facilities are clean, the atmosphere is quiet, and obtaining an appointment is simple. Have been very pleased with the care. My PT is a wonderful. She is patient and nonjudgmental. I am so glad that I found this clinic which has helped me immensely.

Delivering my baby girl was one of the most empowering and awe-inspiring moments of my life. Without the pelvic floor work I did with my physiotherapist this beautiful moment would have been much harder and scarier. Every woman should see a pelvic floor physio before giving birth, it just makes sense. You wouldn’t run a marathon without training, why would you give birth without training. It is definitely one of the most physically demanding things you will ever do.

I had a daughter six years ago, then a son 21 months later. I have had weak pelvic floor muscles since then. Every sneeze, I had to cross my legs and sometimes even that wouldn't help. I am amazed that after only one month, I saw huge improvements. This therapy was 100% effective. I only wish I had come sooner.

I wanted to reach out to say a HUGE thank you for playing such an important role in my journey with overcoming vaginismus. Thanks to your help I'm in a loving, monogamous relationship now where I have lots of amazing, pain-free sex! I also had my first pap smear recently, which was scary and empowering at the same time. Proactive Pelvic Health Centre was one of the best finds! At 63 years old I was starting to get urgency incontinence. My physiotherapist was kind and respectful as she walked me through the various techniques that would help with bladder function. Today I feel more confident and relaxed.

I searched for a really good pelvic physiotherapist and came across Proactive Pelvic Health Centre. I can truly say that all the staff are courteous, very helpful and knowledgeable. My physiotherapist really knew her stuff and helped me get over my fear and anxiety. She was always warm and friendly making my appointments less daunting and more comfortable. My first appointment were initial questions and getting to know the therapist. Instantly, I knew I was in great hands. During my appointments, I had manual therapy done which at first took some time for me to get over. She had given me ways to get over my fear, helped me find trigger points, how to manage my anxiety, taught me how to do my own manual stretches and recommended exercises I needed to start doing at home. I am so thankful I came across this clinic! I am definitely coming back for my pregnancy pelvic strengthening.

My son Theo is doing very well lately - we've had very few if any accidents in the few past weeks, so we would like to thank our pelvic physiotherapist who was truly wonderful to work with. We had seen several doctors and specialists before coming to PPHC, but it was the exercises and suggestions our physiotherapist advised and making some minor changes to our routine that finally solved our issues. When I came through the doors of PPHC, I had already given up on seeking out the care of various other health care providers, had had a hymenectomy with no positive results, gone through periods of confusion and years of frustration. From my own research I suspected that I had vaginismus and asked my family physician to refer me to PPHC. I did not know that such a thing as pelvic physiotherapy existed and was excited to find out about it, especially after most of my internet-based research seemed to suggest treatment such as botox and other ways which did not seem realistic to me. When I was asked, during the first physiotherapy session, to describe my experience, I felt such overwhelming relief at the understanding that the PT had that I could not help but cry. This was the beginning of my 11 month journey at PPHC. I followed a treatment plan of breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and practiced dilation at home as well as during my sessions and learned that I could re-wire by brain and thereby my body’s response. I saw gradual but definite improvement that I would have never imagined before. I had given up, and with every bit of progress I regained my self-esteem and hope that I too could lead a ‘normal’ adult life. I also learned that I was not alone in this. Vaginismus is unfortunately a condition that many of us suffer in silence. My only regret is not having sought the support of PPHC sooner. I cannot recommend PPHC enough to anyone who is suffering from vaginismus – you too can overcome it!

Just have to give praise to the pelvic physio gods at Proactive Pelvic Health Centre! For the first time in a year since giving birth I can enjoy sexy-time again! After 6 weeks of pelvic physio I have ZERO pain. Sorry if its TMI but someone reading this is probably suffering and I hope my experience might help someone regain confidence and pleasure.
